Renaud Schmitt – Composer, Concertist, Music Teacher
A slide show without music… it would be too bad. The music is ″ indispensable″. It brings life, rhythm, enthusiasm, tempo, atmosphere… to me, which is essential in my opinion. But it is also a task that is far from being easy to achieve. Finding the pieces that can create the right atmosphere, the sequences of different kinds of music, as a puzzle, there’s nothing better. I mean, it’s a real job and you can’t improvise.
A fellow photographer recommended Mr. Schmitt to me for having worked with him and I’ve made a very good experience with him. I’m really satisfied with his performance.
So, creators of Slide shows, with Mr. Renaud Schmitt and Mrs. Claudia Rousseaux, you have two good addresses that make your task easier and guarantee the good quality of your Slide show. Once again THANK YOU to these artists for their work.

Having worked with SIGMA in the past, I had given up a heavy lens (300-800 mm) which was no longer suitable for the photographic activities I practiced. Recently, I acquired a second-hand 150 mm macro stabilized lens which I sent to Ott+Wyss AG (SIGMA service center for Switzerland) for checking, cleaning and adjusting the stabilizer of this lens. The contact details of this company are specified above, you also have the possibility to reach their site by clicking on the picture of this article.
The work was done very quickly (3days) and after testing the optic, the defect previously found had disappeared and this work was done under warranty at no cost. Very nice service for this manufacturer, a good point for SIGMA Switzerland! Thanks again to this team of technical specialists.
Claudia – Professional voice-over
A little wink to Claudia who worked as a voice-over on my last slide show which is still under construction.
What is a voice-over? What is its role, its task in the development of a slide show?
I usually integrate comments to facilitate understanding or explain the idea, the process that I wanted to highlight through the slide show. Claudia is equipped with a professional studio which guarantees an optimal quality of the recording she provides to her clients. Once her work is done, she sends a file electronically that will be integrated in the slide show, using a special software program. The experience was positive, Claudia carried out this work very professionally and I am very satisfied with the result.

Thousands of applications, millions of users, a new way to use your computer!
Fast and attractive, Ubuntu is an intuitive and secure operating system, ideal for desktops, servers, netbooks and laptops. Ubuntu is free and is composed of software that are also free.
I decided to “tackle” Linux and I installed a physical “Dual boot” on my desktop computer (1 to 4 SATA 3 Switch Bay EX-3465) from EXSYS. This module can easily be installed in a 3.5″ or 5.25″ front slot because the kit includes an adapter. A documentation (in German) is delivered with the kit. I installed 2 SSD hard disks on this module, so I can switch from one disk to the other when starting the computer. On the first disk my Windows 10 system is set up and on the second disk I installed Ubuntu 18.10. One computer… two operating systems available with a keyboard, a mouse, a scanner and two screens common to these two systems. The installation was easy, whereas the scanner recognition gave me some troubles. Now I am slowly becoming familiar with this new system and I will use it for all Internet-related works.

Meeting with another… Bernard
A few days in the mountains with an expert photographer of high altitude difficult species.
It was necessary to get up early, walk with a headlamp to reach the ridge in order to try to find the animals we planned to immortalize. The success is not always there. Experience, stealth and tenacity will contribute to the
good results of the “expedition”.
We spent a lot of good moments together, talked about our experiences and as usual, the time went by too fast! Thank you Bernard for sharing with us these wonderful days.
Always better to look where you put your feet … these precious flowers are so delicate.
2017 edition of the Salamander Festival, which took place at the Théâtre de Beausobre in Morges. A lot of good time in this place with many natural enthusists!

A little personal experience…
Some time ago I decided to make landscape pictures in the Alps, at 2500 m. The weather report announced variable conditions by the end of the day, just what I needed!
After some hours walking on the mountain, I found the right place to set up my tripod. The sky was becoming more and more dark and a strong wind started to blow, but I kept taking pictures as the sun was still playing with the dark clouds; I didn’t need more to be happy! When the first drops fell, I closed the photographic session and went back to the hut.
Once I retourned home and had a look on my images I got a bad surprise: the pictures were not sharp at all. My tripod is a very good one but not heavy enough for this kind of wind. Therefore, next time I will have to be more careful and try to do a better job. For this there are two solutions: either I use the same tripod stabilized by a bag filled with stones to improve its stability, or I use a bigger tripod, more stable but also heavier.
Why not a nap with sweet dreams?
Unexpected pleasant encounter…
Publication of an article with my pictures in Nat’Images / N. 45
I am working on my new Website! There is a lot to do, but I will do it step by step.
Pleasant activity for rainy days.
Memories of Céüse
Thanks a lot Patrick, for coming with us on the heights of Céüse, to do this making off. Time goes fast, year after year, but it remains a beautiful memory of a September day spent in a special environment.
Web Gallery Dorado
I use the Web Gallery Dorado on this website. I am satisfied with this Plugin, which works very well.
I had to make some adjustments on this gallery and I called 3 times the Hot Line for assistance. The answers were speedy, clear and precise. The modifications were made without any problem! I thank Suzie for her good advice and congratulate the company on the seriousness of its follow-up.
